Question:

How do I file a small claims case against a moving company, based in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, but I live in Arizona?

Selected Answer:

Generally, you must file a

Generally, you must file a small claims case in the area where the defendant lives or where the cause of action that is the subject of the lawsuit arose. Without knowing more about your case and why you wish to file a small claims case against this Florida company, it is unclear whether you can file in Arizona. It sounds as though the moving company’s business headquarters are in Florida, so unless the cause of action arose in Arizona, you may need to file in Florida. However, you should contact an attorney in Arizona to discuss your case and determine where you can file your claim. I need more information.

I need more information.

I need to know more than you have written here in order to answer your question. I guess the best thing to do at this stage is to go see a local attorney, to see if you can sue them from where you are.
